Helping the Disadvantaged

Supporting orphans, widows, widowers, and people with disabilities and street children with food, shoes, hospital bills, clothing, education and shelter.

Disadvantaged & Vulnerable Groups

The global widows’ estimate stands at about 245million as of 2010 (Loomba Report).  The same report indicates that in 2015, there were 22,153,905 widows in Sub-Saharan Africa.  Their children numbered 112,984,916 in the same year. These numbers are staggering.

Widows and their children form an unfortunate block of the world’s most disadvantaged and discriminated groups and they continue to face increased challenges as a result of epidemics, war, economic collapse and stagnation.

The 2015 Global Widows Report notes that widows’ deprivation has been consistently and comprehensively ignored, despite the fact that the conditions many of them are forced to live in, qualify as a humanitarian emergency and as significant human rights violations.

Each contribution helps save or

improve someone’s life.

Widows face seizure of their children, possessions & homes, harmful traditional practices, sexual Gender-based-violence, armed conflict, extreme poverty & starvation as well as social exclusion.  Despite these, they have remained invisible to the public and policy makers.

Their children often have to endure extreme poverty, child/forced labor, prostitution, or are used as bargaining chips to guarantee widows of their economic assets and rights. Collectively, and through no fault of their own, they have little hope of reversing a life of diminishing options.

HOPE FOR HUMANITY OUTREACH (HOF-HO) have sought to focus on the issue, with intermittent support from the United Nations, the lack of mainstream attention has meant that the issue has remained under the radar of even the most pro-active governments.
Hope for humanity outreach is committed to provide Humanitarian Aid and support vulnerable children, less privilege Homes, disability homes and local communities in the south west region Cameroon which is affected by the socio-political crisis. With your support, we can reach our target if you will get your friends, family, groups and organizations to sponsor at least ONE CHILD Back to School for $100 or its equivalent in your local currency which provides a complete school kit.

Hope4 Humanity Outreach supports orphans as well as their widowed mothers or guardians by helping them meet their day to day needs as well as the educational needs for school aged orphans via our No Orphan without Education initiative.  The main objectives of this project are to:

    • Meet the basic survival needs of widows & their orphan children
    • Ensure the children will attend school instead of working to supplement the family income
    • Provide financial support for the basic education of orphans, and monitor their educational progress periodically
    • Remove obstacles that hinder their progress

ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN

We believe in investing in our children. Our children whether orphaned or vulnerable are the leaders of tomorrow. So many Orphans and Vulnerable children who lack support for their tuition fees end up in streets due to lack of Shelter or Hostility back at home from relatives who have housed them, they also seek for early child labour to help them pay for their own tuition fees, food and clothing.

PROMOTING EDUCATION FOR THE LESS PRIVILEGE

According to Article 26 (1) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, every child around the world has the right to free basic education and by this, poverty is no excuse. However, while basic education is theoretically free, poor families are saddled with the responsibility of providing other necessary materials to enjoy the “free basic education”. Lack of materials such as uniforms, books, exam fees, pens and others further create a barrier to accessing free education for millions of children.

Globally, the number of out of school children have drastically increased due to factors such as health crisis, disasters, terrorist attacks, financial hardship as a result of harsh economy among others.
The Back to School Campaign is an initiative of HOPE FOR HUMANITY OUTREACH (HOF-HO) for Children, set up to help surmount these barriers thereby enabling deprived and vulnerable children access primary education through the provision of free scholastic materials and executing school development Projects in underserved communities which would improve learning outcomes.
